MOHALI, India, CMC – Exciting West Indies off-spinner Sunil Narine once again showed his worth as he helped Kolkata Knight Riders to a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League yesterday.
The right-armer took two for 24 from four thrifty overs, as Kings XI were restricted to 124 for seven after winning the toss and batting at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium.
Australian Adam Gilchrist top-scored with 40 from 30 balls while compatriot Shaun Marsh got 33 from 30 balls with four fours.
Another Australian, fast bowler Brett Lee supported Narine with two for 26.
Indian opener Gautam Gambhir then slammed an unbeaten 66 from 44 balls to spur Kolkata to victory.
