An Agricola man was yesterday accused of using threatening language to his mother when he appeared before acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry who placed him on $25,000 bail as well as a bond to keep the peace.
In the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court Police Prosecutor Sergeant Lionel Harvey said that the accused, Elton Amsterdam, is the son of the virtual complainant, Leonie Turton and on April 21 at 79 Brutus Street, Agricola he reportedly made use of threatening language to her, whereby a breach of the peace may be occasioned.
The prosecutor said that the man allegedly threatened to slap his mother, among other things.
Amsterdam was placed on a bond to keep the peace pending the outcome of the matter as a condition of his bail. He is to return to court on May 3.
