The body of a male reported to be in his early thirties and of Amerindian descent was found lying on the road at Arakari, West Demerara yesterday after he was put out of a minibus.
The body is at the Ezekiel funeral home awaiting identification. However police sources informed Stabroek News that they received reports sometime after noon yesterday that there was a body on the roadway. They said from investigating they understood that the man was in a minibus travelling from Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo to Georgetown. They understand that the man appeared “very sickly” and complained about shortness of breath and tightness in the stomach.
The minibus then stopped in the vicinity of Arakari where the man was asked to exit.
A man later turned up at the Ezekiel funeral home with law enforcement officers to identify the body who he felt was that of his brother. However much to his elation it was not.
