(Jamaica Gleaner) A joint police probe is now underway into the shooting deaths of four people including two elderly men in Rejoin district in Hanover last night.
The police say detectives from the Major Investigations Taskforce in Kingston, the Area 1 Headquarters in Montego Bay, as well as personnel from surrounding parishes have been called in to assist their colleagues in Hanover.
The dead men have been identified as Kenneth Bernard, 64, Lenford Frazer, 64, Delroy Frazer , 45, and David Harding, 41, all of Rejoin district.
The four were among persons who were at shop in the community shortly after 9 p.m., when gunmen entered the premises and started shooting.
Noting that a similar shooting incident took place at the same shop in December 2010, the police say detectives are now sifting through those files and evidence gathered from the scene to determine a possible motive for last night’s killings.
Persons with information into the shooting are being urged to contact the police.
