Jerome Piggott of 18 Mile, Rockstone, Essequibo was yesterday brought before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on an indictable charge of attempted murder.
The court heard that Piggott on April 27 at Princeville Backdam with intent to commit murder inflicted grievous bodily harm on Ryan Henry.
According to the investigating officer, the two men who worked together had a misunderstanding that allegedly resulted in Piggott chopping Henry.
Prosecutor, Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey objected to bail on the grounds that Henry is still hospitalized.
Piggott was remanded and will return to court on May 9.
