Kross Kolor Records is launching its new brand ‘Showcase Guyana’ aimed at promoting local music, arts and craft, fashion and food across the Caribbean.
The cream of the crop of Guyanese artists, fashion designers, culinary artisans members of the Guyana Craft Association, the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association and private sector companies are expected to attend the first showcase which is set for Barbados on June 2 and 3 at The Pepperpot.
According to a press release, the initiative is a collaboration among Kross Kolor Records, the Guyana Office for Investment and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport. It will be held under the theme “This is we thing”.
Kross Kolor said the event has garnered a lot of interest both locally and in the first host country and several companies that operate there have indicated an interest in doing business with their Guyanese counterparts. The Bajans will also be showcasing a number of items at the event.
A number of top artists such as X2, Big Red and Rajesh Dubraj have already been billed for the event and more are expected to come on board as the weeks unfold, the release said. The event is expected to attract over 10,000 people over the two days.
