Several less fortunate families in Berbice, including the poisoned children of Plegt Anker and their grandmother, Rajmonie benefited from clothing, footwear and other items from Oldendorff Carriers Guyana Ltd. Inmates from old folks’ homes were also treated to a meal. Captain Zakaria El Dib and his wife, Antje were instrumental bringing smiles to the faces of these persons who were grateful for whatever they got. Most of the items, which were shipped in a container, were acquired from the charity store, Castricum, in Holland. The store, which provides similar help to other also parts of the world, publishes a magazine, the Muttahara, to highlight its efforts.
