Crown Mining Supplies worker charged over break-in at bond

A Crown Mining Supplies employee who was charged with  break and enter and larceny at the company’s bond was initially placed on $120,000 bail by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Shawn Parsram, 17, of “D” Field Sophia was not required to plead to the indictable charge which was read to him.

It is alleged that during Saturday and Sunday, the accused and another man broke and entered the bond of Crown Mining Supplies at Kingston and removed 10 bottles of mercury, 15 bottles of gas and two impellers, valued  a total of $10.7M.

The matter was transferred to Court Three where the defendant’s lawyer made an application for a reduction in the bail.
The reduction was granted and the accused was placed on $100,000 bail.

The matter will continue on May 31.
