Police say that at about 1230h today, jeweller Nalanatie Manshar, 32 years, along with Ricardo Tulsi, 36 years, and Hemraj Mahase, 36 years, all of Letter Kenny, Corentyne, were in Manshar’s motor car when they stopped at a pedestrian crossing at Tain Public Road, Corentyne.
During this two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, approached the vehicle and told the occupants to exit the car.
As Tulsi got out of the vehicle, Manshar drove away causing the armed man to discharge a round which struck Mahase to his left shoulder. The perpetrators then escaped on foot.
Mahase was treated at the Port Mourant Hospital.
Investigations are in progress.
