JAIPUR, India, CMC – West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo had a game to quickly forget but his Chennai Super Kings still managed to get past the Rajasthan Royals by four wickets in the Indian Premier League here yesterday.
He went wicket-less in three expensive overs that cost 38 runs as the Royals, sent in to bat at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, finished on 126 for six off their 20 overs.
Australian seamer Ben Hilfenhaus was brilliant, however, with two wickets for eight runs from four thrifty overs, as fellow countryman Brad Hodge top-scored with 33.
In reply, Chennai reached their target in the 19th over thanks to an enterprising, unbroken 43-run seventh wicket stand between Albie Morkel (18 not out) and Srikkanth Anirudha (18 not out).
Bravo, batting at number four, struggled for 15 balls over 10 before holing out to deep square leg in the 12th over at 57 for three.
The win was Chennai’s second win in four outings and it left them fourth in the standings on 14 points.
