Fruta Conquerors inflicted a 13-1 drubbing on Black Pearl in the lone Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Super League encounter on Wednesday evening at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) Ground.
Jahal Greaves and Jomo Hinds were clinical against the hapless Black Pearl defence, with each scoring a helmet trick.
Greaves scored his four goals in the 51st, 80th, 80th and 87th minute, while Hinds who came onto the field as a 58th minute substitute hammered home his four strikes in the 74th, 76th, 82nd and 90th minute respectively.
The lone goal for Black Pearl was scored by Dwaine Burrowes in the 79th minute after he himself was called to the field as a substitute in the 61st minute. The GFA League continues tonight at the GFC Ground, Bourda with two matches. From 18:00 hours in the curtain raiser Santos will tackle Fruta Charlestown followed by University of Guyana engaging Fruta Conquerors in the feature match at 20:00 hours.
The GFA league started last year with some fifteen teams competing in the tournament.
It is through this tournament that the Premier League and First Division will be selected. The first ten teams in this tournament will form the Premier League and the remainder the First Division.
