Roy Ali and Raymond Samaroo were yesterday in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court faced with a joint charge of simple larceny and were both remanded by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton.
On Monday at Middle Road, La Penitence Ali and Samaroo allegedly stole 120 feet of cable valued $300,000, property of Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T).
The two defendants were not required to plead to the charge but were asked whether they wished to make applications for bail. They both responded that they did not have anyone to post bail for them.
Prosecutor Police Corporal Simone Payne then asked that the duo be remanded and her request was granted.
They will appear in Court Three today before Magistrate Judy Latchman.
