President Donald Ramotar and his delegation yesterday met and held talks with US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, Wendy Sherman.
Details of the talks were not immediately available. Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr Roger Luncheon had said last week that political cooperation, security – including the fight against drugs under the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI), and promoting investment would have featured in the talks.
The Guyanese leader also met with sections of the Guyanese diaspora in the United States.
The Guyanese delegation included Housing and Water Minister, Irfaan Ali; Finance Minister, Dr Ashni Singh and Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Elisabeth Harper.
