Grenadian Kenisha Pascal is set to spearhead the three-member contingent for the upcoming third edition of the President’s/Jefford Track Classic this Sunday at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground in Linden.
Travelling with Pascal, who will be going up against Marian Burnett in the 800 and 1500 metres on Saturday will be Kimon Henry who will compete in the male 800 and 1500 metres international event and Coach Kwame Hypolite.
Pascal, who is known for her exploits at 10k’s and half marathon events, will have to adjust to the faster version of the distance events.
The Grenadian has had her own share of experiences against Guyanese athletes in the form of Euleen Josiah-Tanner who
defeated her at the CARICOM 10k race in St. Kitts last year while she gained some measure of revenge on local distance queen Alika Morgan.
While little is known of her male compatriot Henry, Pascal’s coach Hypolite, who will be with the team, stated via a press release, that he was happy with her improvement over the last year especially since she won the OECS half marathon.
According to the organizers of the event, they are still awaiting the confirmation of the Surinamese delegation to participate at the event.
