(Jamaica Gleaner) After yet another major ganja bust, the Police High Command says it is encouraged by the efforts being made by officers to rid the nation’s streets of illicit drugs.
The commendation comes after members of the Transnational Crimes and Narcotics Divisional Ports team and the Contraband Enforcement Team seized 12 metal drums containing more than 400 pounds of ganja at a business place on Hagley Park Road, Kingston 11, yesterday.
The discovery was made about 12:30 pm during an operation which saw the team searching metal drums of liquid soap. The drums were checked and found to contain metal containers welded to the insides of the drums, which each had about nine packages of compressed ganja wrapped in masking tape.
“The police are continuing their probe into the matter, but in the meantime, the High Command wishes to congratulate the team of officers on their efforts thus far and encourage them to continue working assiduously to bring the perpetrators to justice,” a news release said.
