Lawrence Allicock who is facing two counts of robbery under arms and Kurt Sommer who is charged with trafficking in cannabis appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton on Monday in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and returned yesterday to receive dates for commencement of their hearings.
Allicock was on Monday charged with two counts of robbery under arms, involving over $2 million, and he was not allowed to plead.
He was subsequently directed to Court Three yesterday for fixture and was ordered to present his birth certificate for verification of his first name, which had been questioned when he last appeared in court.
However, when he appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday he was without his birth certificate as instructed and he was told that the preliminary inquiry would begin on June 22.
Sommer when he last appeared in court was allowed to plead to his charge of possession of 195 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Initially Sommer had pleaded guilty but yesterday he decided to plead not guilty and stand trial. His trial will commence on June 18 at the Kamarang Magistrate’s Court.
