Gunpoint robbery accused placed on $120,000 bail

A James Street, Albouystown, man who is accused of robbing a woman in a hold-up was placed on $120,000 bail yesterday by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

According to the indictable charge,  it is alleged that Steven Campbell on December 6 at Laing  Avenue, Georgetown, while being armed with a dangerous weapon, to wit a gun, robbed Fayan Lewis of a quantity of jewellery, a cell phone and a landline phone along with $235,000 cash, all valued a total of $583,000.

The application for bail was made by attorney-at-law Adrian Thompson who stated that his client lives at 144 James Street, Albouystown and is a mason by trade.

There was no objection to bail  by Police Prosecutor Simone Payne and the accused was granted bail and the matter was transferred to Court Three for fixture.
