Police today said that the wife of the man who was found dead on the Corentyne with his scalp missing has been arrested here.
It is believed that the woman had travelled out of the country after the man, Abdool Shakiel Majid, reportedly went on a visit to Suriname and subsequently returned upon hearing that his body had been found. She was arrested yesterday.
Majid was said to have visited Guyana after winning a big insurance settlement.
His body was found with scalp missing and other injuries at the No. 56 Village Foreshore, Corentyne on April 27, 2012.
The body was identified by Abdool Hasheed Majid, brother of the deceased, who now resides in the U.S.A on May 15, 2012.
