Members from the Park Players Tennis Club dominated a Junior Series Develop-mental Competition, held last Saturday at the National Racquet Centre.
Park Players’ Jordan Baton and Anthony Grant played unbeaten to win the doubles category of the competition defeating Heimraj Resaul and Vijay Sharma in the final.
The doubles competition featured three other teams all of them competing in a round robin format, before the top two teams elevated to the finals.
During the morning session, in the singles category Park Player’s Kalyca Fraser, dominated the girls’ 12 and under category, where Chantel Dey was the runner up. Sharma won the boys’ 12 years and under category ahead of Toshan Jumuna.
The competition also featured a boys and girls’ 10 and under category. Charlise Adams won the girls side and Wallyndee Roberts, the boys.
“This competition is one of our junior series that forms part of the Junior Development programmes. It is the follow up of the School primary programme and these players are part of that follow up programme where they played with the Orange ball,” Coach Shelly Ramdyhan explained about the competition.
Coach Jeremy Miller who was also apart of running the one day programme also expressed his pleasure over the performance of the players on Saturday.
