There has been no resolution in the impasse between the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) and the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) following the hearing of their court matter yesterday.
The GFA has taken the GFF to court seeking recognition of their association following a decision by the GFF not to recognize the GFA executive headed by Vernon Burnett.
When the matter came up for hearing yesterday, the GFF was given until June 19 to produce certain financial documents to the court.
Those documents should reflect financial records associated with the last Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was cancelled last year.
The matter, which was heard before Justice Brassington Reynolds yesterday, saw the GFF requesting being granted more time to produce the financial paperwork.
The GFA has agreed to stand all expenses associated with the cancellation of the AGM, but will only do so once the proper financial records are provided.
The new date would also see a trial date being set which should bring an end to the ongoing impasse between the two sides.
Despite the matting being in court, both parties are also working outside of the courts to have the matters resolved amicably.
Meanwhile, the two bodies have been working behind the scenes to resolve a number of issues.
Apart from agreeing in principle, that the GFA will pay all fees for the GFA’s aborted Annual General Meeting, talks are also underway as to the setting up of a disciplinary committee and a board of arbitration.
The GFF is requesting fresh elections given that Western Tigers officials were not satisfied with the previous GFA elections.
The GFA, however, has said that it does not wish to have fresh elections, but prefers the matter to be taken to arbitration, a suggestion which has been rejected by the GFF.
