Signature Productions is hosting its third annual stand-up comedy show Uncensored on June 2 and 3 at the National Cultural Centre.
According to a press release, since its debut two years ago, the show has been “an eagerly anticipated event triggering overwhelming responses from the public and breaking the box office record at the [cultural centre] by being the first show to sell out days in advance.”
This year, Uncensored will be running for two nights. The first night will feature a competition between the junior comedians and the second night will comprise the heavyweights along with the top three winners of the competition. The line-up includes last year’s winner Kirwyn Mars and will feature Odessa Primus, Chubby and Chris Gopaul and newcomers Leza Singh and Kwasi Edmondson. Veteran comedians Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones, Henry Rodney and Habeeb Khan will also be featured.
Tickets for the show cost $800, $1,500 and $2,000 and are available at Giftland OfficeMax, Nigel’s Supermarket, Payless Variety Store, Elegance Jewellery and Pawn Shop and at the cultural centre. Prizes will include a video camera sponsored by Giftland; a gold chain sponsored by Elegance Jewellery and a Blackberry cellular phone sponsored by Cellular Plus. Upscale Restaurant and Sports Bar are also sponsoring the show.
