Dear Editor,
Please allow me to respond to Mr Indarjit Ramdass Executive Director of the Environmental Protection Agency, whose letter of May 23 published by Stabroek News was captioned ‘CH&PA has to enforce injunction and not EPA.’
I do apologize to him and his agency for my ignorance as to who is responsible to enforce that court order regarding a large (95 feet by 20 feet approx) smelly chicken pen in Chateau Margot that continues defiantly to flout a court order made in April 2010. And I would like to thank him for his kind explanation.
Further Editor, several phone calls were made to the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) after reading Mr Ramdass’s pellucid and informative letter, to try and speak to someone in authority who could give an assurance or answer queries, as to when that High Court order would be executed, or if it would, but with no success.
They gave me a royal runaround after several phone calls, and then asked me to “Come into Housing.” And that was the end of my tryst with CH&PA. This morning. I told “Housing” politely that I would not “come in,” as it is not prudent and convenient for me to do so, and that its invitation to me has no merit in this instance.
Yours faithfully,
