Dear Editor,
The Guyana Post Office Corporation apologises for and regrets the unfortunate situation of Mr Deonand Kissoon-Geer who complained in the Tuesday May 22, 2012 edition of the Stabroek News that he is not in receipt of books he purchased from reputable companies in other destinations that were sent to him in Guyana via the Post Office (‘Books sent through Post Office don’t arrive’).
The GPOC is committed to helping Mr Kissoon-Geer and advises that he contact its Customer Service Department either in person or via telephone number 226-3127 for more assistance. This department is equipped to track any mail or package sent express or registered to or from Guyana. All a customer needs to provide is the tracking number which is attached to the mail or parcel, and which appears on the receipt the sender receives upon posting same. Once this information is provided any customer would be entitled to details regarding the location of his mail/package and the necessary process for uplifting same. It is the corporation’s express wish that Mr Kissoon-Geer or any other customer provide this information so that they can be assisted expeditiously.
All customers are sent notices as soon as their parcels and packets or other items for which they have to report to the GPOC to uplift, have arrived in Guyana and strict security measures are in place to ensure the integrity of items in the corporation’s possession on behalf of customers.
The GPOC remains committed to providing customers with the necessary services in a professional manner.
Yours faithfully,
Yolaskee Jervis
Public Relations Officer
