Dear Editor,
The Guyana Post Office Corporation wishes to thank Mr Nyall Jodhan for his letter that appeared in the May 23, 2012 edition of the Stabroek News (‘I wish…’).
While the Corporation appreciates Mr Jodhan’s concerns and agrees that more can (and will) be done to improve the services it offers, we would wish to advise that in most instances the Corporation does its best to offer a reliable service to our valued customers. In instances of delays in mails/packages sent from certain destinations, this may often be attributed to delays that are outside the control of this postal administration. However, the Corporation would be grateful if Mr Jodhan could kindly call our Customer Service Department at 226-3127, and we will be happy to be of assistance to him.
Notwithstanding the aforementioned, the Corporation takes this opportunity to thank Mr Jodhan for bringing this to our attention and our sincere apologies for this unfortunate matter.
All customers are sent notices as soon as their parcels and packets or other items for which they have to report to the GPOC to uplift have arrived in Guyana and strict security measures are in place to ensure the integrity of items in the Corporation’s possession on behalf of customers.
Yours faithfully,
Yolaskee Jervis
Public Relations Officer
