A 17-year-old mother, who gave birth to twins at the Georgetown Public Hospital died on Wednesday at the institution owing to high blood pressure according to her relatives.
Samanta Bruce, 17, and of Back Road, Soesdyke died some time during Wednesday. Subsequently, one of the babies died yesterday at the hospital, whiles the other remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the institution.
Bruce’s sister said they learnt of her death when the family went to visit her on Wednesday. According to the sister, she was well after she gave birth, but her blood pressure later went up resulting in her death.
The sister also said that the family did not believe Bruce’s death was a result of poor medical attention. She said, “God was ready for her.”
