(Jamaica Observer) An unimpressive Jamaica Reggae Boyz unit went down 1-0 to Panama inside the National Stadium in the first of their two-game friendly series Sunday evening.
Luis Renteria was the man for the Central Americans when he ghosted in unmarked in the penalty area to guide a powerful downward header pass the helpless Dwayne Miller from about eight yards from a right-sided corner on minute number 17.
The hosts tried unsuccessfully to gain an equaliser despite hitting the frame twice, and the sparse crowd on hand vented its frustrations at the team with boos at the half time interval and again at Mexican referee Mauricio Ovalle’s final whistle.
The teams are scheduled to meet again on Friday in Panama City.
