These two taxis collided at the corners of Lance Gibbs and New Garden Streets yesterday afternoon and one of the vehicles hit a man walking on the road resulting in him having to be rushed to the hospital. According to the driver of City Taxi, HC 841, he was proceeding west along Lance Gibbs Street when the other car, HB 6046, attached to the GT Express taxi service, which was heading south along New Garden Street sped in front of him and the vehicles collided. “I run into he after he fly across deh,” he said. He said that the GT Express car hit the pedestrian, said to be a ‘junkie’ before coming to a stop at a drain at the side of the road. The City taxi came to rest at an electricity pole. The pedestrian was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital and was said to be in a stable condition. Police are investigating.
