The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has been convened and held its first meeting yesterday during which members engaged acting Auditor General Deodat Sharma on issues related to public accounts and their audit.
Speaking to Stabroek News, Chairman of the PAC Carl Greenidge said the meeting was a routine one.
He said that being the first meeting of the PAC, the parties examined the arrangements for looking at public accounts.
The PAC is usually chaired by the opposition and is one of those committees whose membership is not decided by the Committee of Selection.
