Twenty-year-old Nicoli Allen appeared on Friday in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court accused of committing robbery with aggravation on Water Street and he was put on $75,000 bail by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton.
He was told that the charge was an indictable one and he was not required to enter a plea.
It was alleged that Allen on May 30 on Water Street, Georgetown, being together with another person, robbed Harmaotie Singh of a gold chain and band valued a total of $176,000. In his application for bail, Allen stated that he resided at Lot 2 Bougainvillea Park and vends in the Stabroek Market with an aunt.
Police Prosecutor Corporal Simone Payne had no objection to bail and he was ordered to appear in Court Two on June 11.
