A West Berbice mother is calling for justice after her three-year-old daughter was raped by a 17-year-old relative who is still going about normal life.
She said the child was examined by a doctor at a hospital where suspicions were confirmed. The matter was reported to the police and the teen was in custody for one night.
Police, she said, told her that he was released because “he is a minor”. In the meantime, her daughter is deeply traumatized and she too is finding it overbearing, especially since she feels that nothing is being done.
