Horizon Arts Production (HAP) will stage its fourth Annual Fathers’ Night cultural programme on Father’s Day, June 17, at 8 pm at the Theatre Guild Playhouse, Kingston.
According to a press release from HAP, there will be songs, dances and dramatic poetry pieces performed under the theme ‘Dads are Staying’.
The release said the pieces showcased will speak straight to fathers helping them to see how much they are needed, while “sending the strong message that they need to reaffirm their commitment to their families as the head of the home, and to stick with their families through thick and thin as it is their God given responsibility”.
A fun-filled evening is promised with performances by Bonny Alves, Charmaine Blackman, Shevonnie Semple, Gerard Gilkes, Colin Ambrose, Sonia Yarde, Sheron Cadogan-Taylor, Nathaya Whaul, Simone Dowding and several budding artistes.
Five fathers will be honoured and each father entering the theatre will be treated to a complimentary glass of wine and a small token. The programme is being put together and directed by Mariatha Causway aka Jennifer Thomas and Sheron Cadogan-Taylor, and in their words “it’s entertainment for the entire family”, the release said.
Tickets costs $1,000 and are available at the Theatre Guild or from any member of the cast.
