Top Guyanese actress Mariatha Causway aka Jennifer Thomas will launch a spoken word CD next Wednesday at the Water Chris Hotel, Waterloo Street.
According to a press release, the actress celebrates her birthday on the same day.
The CD, which will be on sale for $500, features 10 dramatic poems written by Jennifer and voiced by Bonny Alves, Charmaine Blackman and Jennifer. It was produced by Bonny Alves who also is the Artistic Director. A number of sound effects and in some cases music are blended with the voices in an attempt to capture the appropriate ambience for the 10 pieces.
The launch will also have a special feature in the form of a short film entitled The Encounter where Jennifer plays the leading role, the release said. She is currently working on her second film called Where is Everybody in which she is the Assistant Director and lead actress.
