(Jamaica Gleaner) Convicted gangster, Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke’s lawyer, Stephen Rosen says his client will not appeal the 23 year sentence he was handed in a United States Federal court on Friday.
Rosen says he believes Coke will be released in his 60s and allowed to return to his home country.
Coke was extradited from Jamaica on June 24, 2010 following a bloody incursion into his Tivoli Gardens stronghold.
And in August last year he pleaded guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy and one count of conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.
In addition to the 23 year sentence, US Federal Judge Robert P. Patterson has signed an order for the forfeiture of US$1.5 million from Coke’s estate.
