Dear Editor,
I am positive that good things are happening in many of our institutions, both government and private. How can we hear about these?
Why is our reporting so one-sided?
What is the mission of our media men and women?
How do our reporters access these happenings? Is there a system that our organisations need to know about? Many Guyanese would I am sure like to read ‘nice’ things about our country. Many mornings, we pick up our newspapers reluctantly – more blood and gore, guns and jail, fraud and fire, accident and cocaine, murder and rape, boat sinks, deaths at GPHC, child pregnant, bus crashes, teen abuses mother, teen murders teen , floods…
Does something good happen anywhere? Where can we read about it? We would like the visitors to this country to read other things about us. We do not want to prevent them from buying our newspapers.
Reporters, please help your country. We want our children to read and learn about our better side.
Yours faithfully,
Joyce Sinclair
