National junior sprinter Elton Bollers is making headway with his rising career as he clocked 10.88s to with the boy’s under-20 100 metres yesterday at the Mustang Games in Trinidad which was held at the Hasley Crawford Stadium.
Bollers, known more for his 200 and 400 metres exploits, blasted out of the blocks to take a lead that he never relinquished to capture the event in fine style.
“It was a good race, I came out hard and pumped through right to the end but I thought I could have ran faster,” Bollers told Stabroek Sport.
However, Bollers was booted from the finals of the 400 metres earlier in the day as he finished fifth.
“I wasn’t getting the energy in the 400 metres, I don’t know what went wrong but I just wasn’t myself… I just wanted to do both events to get comfortable because next week it will be with seniors,” Bollers told Stabroek Sport via telephone.
Bollers will be featuring next weekend at the Trinidad National Senior event which will be held at the Hasley Crawford Stadium.
