Dear Editor,
It has become a habit for workers living on the ECD to reach their respective workplaces late because of a lack of access to a reliable transportation service.
I can give testimony to the long wait at the Non Pareil/Enterprise Housing Scheme where passengers are left stranded so that the private minibus operators can fill their pockets with packing and transporting schoolchildren like sardines. It is clear that these private minibuses cannot pull off the commuters at the peak rush hour, and as such the government should introduce the big buses as they were earlier contemplating.
This is just to let the President know that our jobs are at stake, and there isn’t much in the way of alternatives on offer, so please could he do something about it.
Yours faithfully,
Leila Singh
