A 21-year-old man accused of forging a driver’s licence was on Friday admitted to bail in the sum of $100,000 when he made his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The allegation against David North is that between June 13 and 17 at Georgetown, he forged one driver’s licence, number ABS 26; purporting to show that same was issued by the Licence Revenue Office, knowing same to be forged.
Additionally, on June 13, also at Georgetown, he is alleged to have uttered to Police Constable 2696 Kumar one forged driver’s licence, number ABS 26; purporting to show that same was issued by the Licence Revenue Office, knowing same to be forged.
The 107 Pike Street, Kitty resident pleaded not guilty to both forgery charges when they were read to him by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton.
The prosecution had no objection to the accused being granted his pretrial liberty.
North was subsequently placed on $50,000 bail for each charge. The matter continues on July 6.
