The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and the Ministry of Health today announced that the hospital performed its first Haemodialysis treatment today on a patient with renal failure.
A release from the hospital said that the GPHC Renal Centre is now opened and will service all in-patients who require dialysis treatment.
“This is a very special day for the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and the Ministry because patients will no longer have to be transported to Annandale to have this treatment done. GPHC also has the skilled capacity to administer this treatment – two (2) nurses have to-date been trained”, the release said.
