The lifeless body of a man was discovered yesterday morning on a farm in West Watooka backdam.
No foul play is suspected in the death of Virgil Knights, said to be 50, who was found on Dexter ‘Salab’ Rockliffe’s farm.
Rockliffe, who was alerted to the presence of the man’s body by an unknown caller, informed police in Linden before heading to authenticate the information.
Knights, described as an alcoholic, frequented several bars and often walked the street in a drunken state. He was also said to be epileptic.
Reliable sources told Stabroek News that Knights was found face down. There was a bruise on his shoulder.
It took several hours for police to get to the body after their vehicle got stuck on the road. Ranks had to trek around one mile inland to get to the farm.
