Manager of Body Maxx Gym, Ashton Barker yesterday handed over an undisclosed sum of money to the Inter Ministries/Corporations’, seven-a- side football organizer, Mark Young.
The cheque was handed over in the presence of supporters from the gym and media personnel at the Body Maxx Gym on Croal Street.
Barker stated that the gesture was made to support a worthy cause. He also stated that since it involves sporting activities which in one way or the other help to keep persons fit, it was a pleasure to make the contribution.
Young expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the contribution made towards the tournament and added that he is pleased with the attention that he has received so far for the tournament. He also stated that he has been trying for a long time to have fitness routines as a part of everyday life for, if not all, most Guyanese people.
“We have been trying to get fitness into the ministries and into the workplaces, so with Body Maxx coming on board it just shows that we have fitness behind us all the way and we hope that it just doesn’t stop at this tournament but continues after the tournament would have completed so we can still come out and get exercise”, Young said.
He is also encouraging persons to continue to support the teams as they move towards the finals.
