Three teams on Saturday booked quarter final places in the Kalden Organisation’s Inter Ministry/Corporations seven-a-side football competition following matches at the Banks DIH Limited Thirst Park ground.
In the opening encounter, John Fernandes Limited defeated Ministry of Education 4-1 with Jamal Joseph scoring a double in the ninth and 13th minutes.
The other goal scorers were Alden Lawrence in the 22th minute and Delroy Henry in the 29th.
The lone goal scorer for the Ministry of Education team was Sherwin Anderson who netted in the fourth minute.
Also booking their quarter-final spot was J & S Electrical whose team defeated the Ministry of Public Works 2 – 1.
Deon Alfred scored and Nigel Denny netted for the winning team in the 14th and 27th minutes while O’Neil Duncan scored Public Works’ consolation goal.
In the final game of the night, Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation defeated Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company 4-0.
Kelvin McKenzie (14th), Ken Agard (20th &22th) and Alpha Sylvester (29th) were the goal scorers.
Banks DIH Limited and Republic Bank from Group A are already though to the quarter-finals along with J&S Electrical and GNSC from Group D.
The quarter finals commence at 5.30pm on Saturday.
