Local public and private sector entities seeking cost-saving energy solutions are expected to be among the invitees to a breakfast seminar being hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago-based firm Energy Dynamics Ltd on Wednesday July 4 at the Pegasus Hotel.
Founder and Managing Director of EDL Andre Escalante will deliver a presentation to the forum in the theme ‘Energy Auditing and Energy Cost Savings Opportunities – A Guyanese Perspective’. According to the company’s Business Develop-ment Manager Christian Tom Yew the seminar arose out of a recent fact-finding visit made by EDL representatives to Guyana and is designed to educate “relevant stakeholders on energy efficiency, energy auditing and renewable.”
Yew told Stabroek Business that since its establishments in 2000 EDL had completed more than 200 energy audits including audits for projects in Barbados, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
EDL offers, among other services, energy engineering consultancies, energy efficient products and services, facility management services, renewable energy systems, project management and project financing.
EDL, according to Yew, is currently undertaking major projects at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus and Digicel headquarters in Jamaica and firms in the hotel and tourism sector in the Dominican Republic and Barbados.
Yew told Stabroek Business that EDL was seeking to respond to “a growing need for competent energy engineering services within the region where the cost of energy remains the highest in the Western Hemisphere.” He said that the company provides energy engineering services for high rise buildings, hotels, offices, hospitals, residential homes and manufacturing facilities throughout the Caribbean. Yew said that annual energy savings ranging from 15 to 60 per cent can be secured through the installation of facilities provided by EDL.
