American television and film actress Anna Maria Horsford, Christopher McNair of Caribbean Export, Steven Cutting of FIT, Jean Pierre Begon, Vice President Elite International and international photographer Donn Thompson will be on the judging panel for tomorrow evening’s model search final at Isika.
Anna Maria Horsford is known for roles as Thelma Frye on the NBC sitcom “”, as Dee Baxter on the sitcom “, and as Craig Jones’ mother Betty in the comedy films and . Currently, she portrays Helen on the BET sitcom .
According to a press release, Horsford, an alumnae of the School of Performing Arts in Manhattan, is also an honourary member of the Sonia Noel Foundation for Creative Arts. She is no stranger to Guyana, having been the international spokesperson for Guyana Fashion Weekend in 2008. She returns with an increased awareness of the needs of the Guyanese creative arts.
Christopher McNair is the manager of competitiveness and innovation at the Caribbean Export Development Agency, the only trade and investment promotion agency in the region set up to foster networking possibilities, encourage investment opportunity, generate research and development initiatives, mandate export-worthiness and above all consolidate thrusts into the world economy.
Steven Cutting is a professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. He has worked for labels like Krizia, Philippe Monet, Perry Ellis and Beyonce’s House of Dereon.
Jean Pierre Begon, Vice President Elite International will be once again looking for the next unique face of fashion. Last year he discovered Amanda King, who went on to become one of three Caribbean girls signed to Elite.
Donn Thompson, an international photographer from New York, who is no stranger to Guyana, has been part of the Guyana Fashion Weekend’s committee since inception. He has been the resident photographer for Guyana Model Search for the last four seasons.
