Come Sunday all roads will lead to the South Dakota Circuit as the Guyana Motor racing and Sports Club stages its Race of Champions meet.
Unlike previous year’s Sunday’s meet will be one with a difference as the GMR&SC has made seceral changes to its rules in an effort to make the sport more competitive and exciting for the motor racing fans.
One of the new rule changes will entail some of the cars being much lighter than before.
This new rule by the GMR&SC will allow for cars to be as much as 10 per cent lighter than before.
This is expected to result in faster lap times and more competitive races.
Most of the top riders and drivers are scheduled to participate this Sunday including reigning champion Kevin Jeffrey, past champions Andrew King and Mark Vieira, Vishok Persaud, Ryan Rahaman, Paul Vieira, Keith Evelyn, Gavin Gayadin, Irfaan Kalamadeen, Kamal Seebarran, Raj Boodoo and Andrew Morgan.
The riders who will compete in the superbike category are Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira, Carlos Rodrigues and Joel Neblett.
