Residents of No. 53 Village, Corentyne were late yesterday afternoon still battling with floodwaters, caused by a high tide and heavy rainfall, that swamped their homes and yards from early in the morning.
They told Stabroek News that poor drainage in the area resulted in the water taking a long time to recede. Nearby villages were also affected by flooding but the water drained off quickly.
