Overseas-based sprinter Jeremy Bascom will be on the Guyana team heading for London a few weeks from now for the Olympic Games starting on July 27.
President of the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) Colin Boyce confirmed Bascom’s inclusion on the team via telephone yesterday with Stabroek Sport.
“Yes he will definitely, once we sent the information to the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) and they confirmed that the meet was a legal meet, everything was set so he will be on the team,” Boyce stated.
Bascom will now join two-time 400 metres Commonwealth Games medalist Aliann Pompey and 400 metres debutant Winston George as part of the track and field team for the London 2012 Olympics.
