A man was yesterday placed on $15,000 bail for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
The charge stated that on July 2, 20-year-old Christophe Small of Lot 93 West Ruimveldt unlawfully assaulted Shalini Ambrose, causing actual bodily harm.
Small, unrepresented by counsel, made an application for bail after entering a plea of not guilty.
The prosecution had no objection to bail, but asked that the defendant should undertake to have nothing to do with the complainant, pending the outcome of the matter, as the two were in a relationship.
No facts of what transpired on the day in question were related to the court.
The matter will be called again on July 23 for report and fixture.
