A man who was reported to police for allegedly threatening his sister was yesterday arraigned on weapons charges after police accused him of having an unlicensed gun and ammunition in his possession when they found him.
George Greene, 27, was arraigned on charges that on July 10, at Georgetown, he was in unlawful possession of a 9mm pistol and 47 live rounds of 9mm ammunition and six live rounds of 12 gauge cartridges, for which he did not have licences. Greene was also charged with displaying threatening behaviour on the same day towards his sister, Shondell Evans, resulting in a breach of the peace. The father of three, of Lot 29 North East La Penitence, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where he denied the charges when they were read to him.
