Four men accused of trafficking ganja were each released on $75,000 bail at the New Amsterdam Court yesterday.
Mark Major, 28, of Queenstown, in Georgetown, Wollyea Anderson, 39, of East La Penitence, Imran Ramsay, 18, of Adelphi East Canje, and Curtis Fraser, 18, of Tucbur Park, New Amsterdam, all appeared before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo and pleaded not guilty.
It was alleged that on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Main and King streets, New Amsterdam, the four men had in their possession 18 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. The cannabis was found by police officers in a room at the Church View Hotel.
Fraser told the court that he was not present at the time when police visited and conducted the search on the room.
Bail was later granted to the four men and the case was adjourned until August 24.
