(Trinidad Express) Former prime minister Patrick Manning is on the road to recovery and it is hoped that he will be well enough to return home by September, says Government Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal.
Moonilal told the Express following the ceremonial opening of Parliament on Wednesday that he contacted one of Manning’s sons to get an update on his health.
Manning suffered a stroke earlier this year and is currently in the United States recuperating.
“They indicated that he is recuperating and getting better by the day,” said Moonilal.
“He will not be available to the Parliament in the immediate future… we expect that he will take a bit more time to recuperate,” he said.
“I’m sure the prognosis is good enough to suspect that we are hoping, we are crossing our fingers that we will have some good news by September of his return,” Moonilal added.
